La Escuela de Cine del Uruguay (ECU)<\/strong>, en el marco de sus 25 a\u00f1os, tiene mucho gusto en anunciar la realizaci\u00f3n, por primera vez, de un Encuentro Internacional de Estudiantes de Cine<\/strong>. El mismo tendr\u00e1 lugar en paralelo al 20 Festival Internacional de Escuelas de Cine<\/strong>, los d\u00edas viernes 21 y s\u00e1bado 22 de agosto.<\/p>\n

ENGLISH BELOW<\/strong><\/p>\n

El encuentro busca abrir un espacio de di\u00e1logo en el cual estudiantes de cine de Uruguay puedan intercambiar experiencias e inquietudes sobre su formaci\u00f3n y sobre la producci\u00f3n de cortometrajes con sus pares del resto del mundo. El punto de partida ser\u00e1n los cortos programados en el Festival, aunque las inquietudes podr\u00e1n ir m\u00e1s all\u00e1 y abarcar las distintas experiencias de formaci\u00f3n en las diferentes escuelas de cine y la inserci\u00f3n profesional dentro de las industrias cinematogr\u00e1ficas de cada pa\u00eds. Lo m\u00e1s interesante de todo esto es que tanto las propuestas tem\u00e1ticas como la moderaci\u00f3n de esos encuentros estar\u00e1n a cargo de un grupo de estudiantes de la Carrera de Realizaci\u00f3n de la ECU, de 2\u00ba y 3er a\u00f1o, varios de los cuales participaron de la preselecci\u00f3n de cortos para el Festival.<\/p>\n

El primer encuentro, moderado por Federico S\u00e1nchez, Paulina Perandones, Ignacio Fomichov y Antonella Scigliano<\/strong>, ser\u00e1 el viernes 21 a las 17:00 horas de Uruguay (UTC -3). En tanto el segundo encuentro, moderado por Luc\u00eda Mart\u00ednez, Luca Mirabolano, Manuel Rosa y Mateo Duarte<\/strong>, ser\u00e1 el s\u00e1bado 22 a las 18:00 horas de Uruguay (UTC-3). Algunas de sus propuestas tem\u00e1ticas ser\u00e1n: el cortometraje como formato y sus particularidades, la construcci\u00f3n y el tratamiento de los personajes tanto en la ficci\u00f3n como en el documental, as\u00ed como la construcci\u00f3n de un mundo coherente y veros\u00edmil para los personajes. Tambi\u00e9n proponen abordar el acompa\u00f1amiento que realizan las diferentes escuelas de sus procesos creativos, tanto desde las tutor\u00edas docentes como en relaci\u00f3n a las condiciones de producci\u00f3n y los recursos t\u00e9cnicos, as\u00ed como el espacio que se le da en el marco curricular a la animaci\u00f3n y la no ficci\u00f3n. El lugar del cine dentro de cada pa\u00eds y sus posibilidades de inserci\u00f3n dentro de la industria son tambi\u00e9n inquietudes que estar\u00e1n presentes, as\u00ed como la motivaci\u00f3n y el proceso de producci\u00f3n detr\u00e1s de los cortos exhibidos antes de cada charla.<\/p>\n

El Encuentro de Estudiantes de Cine est\u00e1 abierto a estudiantes de escuelas de cine de todo el mundo, dando prioridad a quienes forman parte de esta edici\u00f3n del Festival con sus cortometrajes. Para registrarse (sin costo) solo es necesario enviar un mail a festival@ecu.edu.uy<\/a> incluyendo: nombre completo, instituci\u00f3n, universidad o escuela de cine a la que pertenece y qu\u00e9 d\u00eda desea participar (viernes y\/o s\u00e1bado).<\/strong> Se enviar\u00e1 un mail de confirmaci\u00f3n con los datos de acceso a Zoom hasta 24 horas antes de cada encuentro. Se contar\u00e1 con traducci\u00f3n simult\u00e1nea espa\u00f1ol-ingl\u00e9s.<\/p>\n

Debido a la emergencia sanitaria ante el COVID-19 esta edici\u00f3n del Festival ser\u00e1 totalmente online, con la exhibici\u00f3n de los cortos seleccionados en nuestro canal de YouTube<\/a>.<\/strong> Cada programa de cortos se estrenar\u00e1 a una hora espec\u00edfica, a raz\u00f3n de tres programas por d\u00eda, y estar\u00e1 conformado como una lista de reproducci\u00f3n. Una vez estrenados, los cortos estar\u00e1n disponibles hasta el cierre del Festival. Los cortos premiados por ambos jurados estar\u00e1n disponibles excepcionalmente hasta el d\u00eda domingo 23.<\/p>\n

International Film Students Meeting<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Uruguayan Film School (ECU)<\/strong> celebrates 25 years and, for the first time, organizes an International Film Students Meeting<\/strong> which will take place along with ECU\u2019s 20 International Film Schools Festival<\/strong>, Friday August 21st and Saturday the 22nd.<\/p>\n

The meeting seeks to open up a dialogue in which film students from Uruguay and the rest of the world can exchange experiences and interests about their film education and audiovisual work. It will all start with the festival\u2019s short films selection, although the conversations are expected to go beyond them, according to the thematic proposal of the group of ECU students who will moderate the discussions. They are in their second or third year (of the three-year Filmmaking Career), and some of them took part in the festival\u2019s selection process.<\/p>\n

The first meeting, moderated by Federico S\u00e1nchez, Paulina Perandones, Ignacio Fomichov<\/strong>, and Antonella Scigliano<\/strong>, will take place on Friday, August 21st at 17:00 hours Uruguay time (UTC -3), while the second, moderated by Luc\u00eda Mart\u00ednez, Luca Mirabolano, Manuel Rosa<\/strong>, and Mateo Duarte<\/strong>, will begin Saturday, August 22nd at 18:00 hours Uruguay time (UTC -3).<\/p>\n

Their discussion topics include: the short film as a format and its particularities; character construction and treatment in both fiction and documentary work; and the construction of a coherent and plausible world for characters. They also propose to discuss the creative processes students experience in the different film schools, such as the teachings tutorials and the production and technical resources, as well as the curricular space given to animation and nonfiction works. The possibilities of insertion in the film industry within every country will also be a topic in the discussions, again with the festival\u2019s short films offering a starting-off point.<\/p>\n

The International Film Students Meeting is open to film students from all over the world, while giving priority to those who participate in this year\u2019s selected short films. To register (free of charge) please send an email to festival@ecu.edu.uy indicating your full name, institution or film school, and the day you would like to participate (Friday and\/or Saturday). <\/strong>A confirmation email with the Zoom details will be sent 24 hours before the event. Simultaneous Spanish-English translation will be available to facilitate discussion.<\/p>\n

Due to the health emergency caused by Covid-19, this edition of the festival will be completely online, with the shorts exhibition on ECU\u2019s YouTube channel*. Every program of short films (three each day) will be exhibited at a specific time as a playlist. Once they are released, the shorts will be available until the festival\u2019s closing. The winning shorts (according to both juries) will be available until Sunday, August 23rd.<\/p>\n
