FILM CONTEST AND FESTIVAL: CINEHAIKU ASSOCIATION
The association CINEHAIKU just launched a film contest open to everybody. The idea is to offer an interactive platform so that young film makers can express themselves artistically through a visual poetry exercise.
The principle is simple: anyone can enroll on our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/cinehaikuofficial/) through our official website (http://www.cinehaiku.com/), in order to send a 30 seconds maximum length film, visually revisiting the rules of the haikus (Japanese poem of 3 verse). This competition rewards each week a winner with a financial grant of $500. The final winner will be determined at the July festival by a jury from the artistic and cinematographic world, and rewarded with a financial prize of $10 000.
The prize-winning films will be shown in full at international travelling exhibitions, in major department stores and galleries, as well as on all audiovisual and web-based media.
The contest has already started and will end on the 26th of June 2017. A festival will take place this summer in Gordes, Luberon, France, from July 7 to the 21st, where there will be celebrities from the world of art, film and literature.
The name of this film contest, that will be renewed each year, is Cinéhaïku, as its inspiration comes from the traditional Japanese poetry of the haïkus.
