Students Jury Awards
Meeting in Montevideo on August 14, 2025, the Students Jury of the 25 International Film Schools Festival, composed of Antonella La Rocca (Film School of Uruguay), Fernando Bottari (Catholic University of Uruguay) and Joaquín Duschatzky (University of Buenos Aires), has decided to award the following prizes and mentions:
ANIMATION CATEGORY:
Special Mention: for finding the specificity of growing up believing that you can only love in secret;
A Blue Summer – directed by Juliette Ragot – La Fémis (France)
Best Animation Award: for its originality and humor in portraying the complexity of asking for a hug;
Detlev – directed by Ferdinand Ehrhardt – Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg (Germany)
NON-FICTION CATEGORY:
Special Mention: for reflecting so intimately on what it means to lose one’s home;
Home is 1117 kilometers away – directed by Marta Smerechynska – Doc Nomads (Ukraine)
Best Non-Fiction Award: for successfully portraying an entire community through a single story;
Será inmortal quien merezca serlo – directed by Nay Mendl – EICTV (Cuba)
FICTION CATEGORY:
Special Mention: for his way of mixing the hardness of its story with a great technical skill;
Domingo familiar – directed by Gerardo Del Razo – Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica (Mexico)
Best Fiction Award: for the complexity of making the everyday simple and for managing to deal with death with humor;
The Last Bet – directed by Meike Wüstenberg – Film Academy Vienna (Austria)
BEST URUGUAYAN SHORT FILM:
Special Mention: for its effectiveness in building strangeness and illogic within the character’s mind:

First Prize: for portraying the particular, tender and human nature of wanting to correct a mistake with a sofa.
