Professional Jury Awards
Meeting in Montevideo on August 14, 2025, the Professional Jury of the 25th International Film School Festival, composed of Lucía Garibaldi, Leandro Listorti, and Sergio De León, has decided to award the following prizes:
ANIMATION CATEGORY:
Premio Mejor Animación: por su capacidad de conmover y por volverse impredecible en su narrativa, aprovechando al máximo el lenguaje de la animación para retratar la soledad a partir de personajes alejados de estereotipos, dando una mirada luminosa sobre el amor:
Best Animation Award: for its moving and unpredictable narrative, making the most of the language of animation to portray loneliness through characters far from stereotypes, offering a luminous perspective on love:
Detlev – directed by Ferdinand Ehrhardt – Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg (Germany)
NON-FICTION CATEGORY:
Best Non-Fiction Award: for opening the door to a genuine world, where its characters, irresistible from the first second, invite us to stay, to share their intimacy, and to enjoy that invisible luxury of wasting time;
Un sueño de una noche – directed by Sandra Iglesias González, Claudia de la Iglesia Diez, Barbara Portilla Santana and Marina Fornies Briceño – ECAM (Spain)
FICTION CATEGORY:
Best Fiction Award: for maintaining a constant dramatic tension and for the visual power with which it constructs its own universe. The photography, the interplay of scale in the staging, and the craftsmanship of the makeup are notable, reinforcing its fantastical world.
Among the beasts – directed by Luchino Paparella – INSAS (Belgium)
BEST LATIN AMERICAN SHORT FILM:
Best Latin American Short Film Award: for creating, through a unique staging, a safe and intimate space of memory, where the protagonists share their most difficult experiences with deep complicity;
Una casa – directed by Agustín Moras – ENERC (Argentina)
BEST URUGUAYAN SHORT FILM:
First Prize: for showing how, through art and expression, a path to transformation can be found. It highlights its commitment to breaking the social stigma surrounding the prison population through a sensitive, humane, and non-condescending approach. The award goes to:
